Rahul Dravid the Indian cricketer is known by everybody in this world as a Big Cricket STAR.

Well he was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh into a Maharashtrian Deshastha Brahmin family living in Karnataka. He grew up in Bangalore, Karnataka.

He started playing cricket at the age of 12, and represented the state at the under-15, under-17 and under-19 level.

After his execellent performances in school team he was selected for Ranji Trophy.

He however bad a bad start in the international cricket in one day matches. He was even dropped off the team a number of times. However he did not stop. He worked hard on his short falls and revived his position in the team and got to the position of the Captain.

He is the third Indian batsman, after Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, to have scored 10,000 runs in test cricket.

Unlike Sachin, Rahul Dravid was not a rapid scorer rather he would start slowly and safely to play for more overs and time to score more runs. He was also knwon as the Rock of the team for providing the support as a vice-captian, batsman and a wicket-keeper for playing multiple roles in the team .
