PHILATELY (STAMP COLLECTION)-A Good Hobby For Children !!

Philately is a hobby which any body can make it in his life. This is normally practiced by the school going children who keeps collection of the stamps from the letters they recieve from thir friends, relatives, uncles and parents. Not only they collect the stamps of their countries , they also make a registration in their mind- the country the stamp represent. They start asking questions about the country's geography, economy, type of government, the states, the culture and so and on. Thus they start collecting more information about those countries makeing their General Knowledge better.

This has been observed that this hobby was very common a decade ago when there was no internet, and the e-maling features of the internet which is now prevalent in almost every where in the rural and the urban localities (with the mushrooming of the cyber-kios every 50 kilometers or so). Due to this people are not using the postal system much to send letters as now the information can sent in a much cheaper rate and with minimum effort with ease. As a result the children are not getting much scope to collect different types of domestic and foreign countries stamps.

I remember when I was in school, almost all of my friends were into this hobby and we used to exchange stamps with each other of different countries. Some stamps use to be of square type, some rectangular, some triangular all displaying beautiful pictures of either the rulers, any special pics related with traditions, culture etc of that country.

Now a days mostly the children are dependent on the post offices where the stamps are sold at differernt rates for different countries. I believe one must make their children to pursue this hobby in their leisure to enhance their knowledge of the world-as the stamps triggers their mind very easily.

Not only the children, any body can make this as their hobby !!!
